Ed Davis, Boston’s former top cop who helped shepard the city through the Boston Marathon bombing in 2013, talked about his experiences on that faithful day to a rapt audience of students from the Miles River Middle School and the Hamilton-Wenham Regional High School.

“It’s great to be up here in God’s country,” he said jokingly of visiting Hamilton.

His visit was part of an ongoing civic engagement program led by the Hamilton-Wenham League of Women voters with the Hamilton-Wenham Regional School District.

Davis, commissioner of the Boston Police Department from 2006 to 2013, came to discuss the bombing to students through the viewpoint that “one person” can make a difference.
