Steve O’Donnell has over 35 years of law enforcement and 7 years of private sector experience. As a Senior Security Specialist at EDC, O’Donnell provides the company with business development initiatives and an operational expertise across our many verticals. O’Donnell assists in the engagement of both Massachusetts and Rhode Island-based clients to serve their investigative, risk management, and operational security needs.
Before joining EDC, O’Donnell was the Superintendent of the Rhode Island State Police & Commissioner of the Rhode Island Department of Public Safety with oversight of the State Police, Capital Police, E-911, The Sheriff’s, Municipal Police Academy, and the Grants Administrative Office. O’Donnell also served as the United States Marshal for the District of Rhode Island and was appointed by President Barrack Obama to this position. O’Donnell was recognized at the White House by President William Clinton as a “Top Cop” as well as “State Trooper of the Year” in 1996 as a result of his investigative work. O’Donnell’s career included oversight of the first High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) Task Force along with the FBI in Rhode Island; assisted in the development and implementation of the Rhode Island Fusion Center; oversaw and investigated Corruption and Racketeering violations.
