Margaret (Maggie) Murphy is a Senior Security Specialist for The Edward Davis Company. Murphy is a former detective with the Boston Police Department. Murphy served for approximately thirty-six years, with the last sixteen years being assigned to the Homeland Security section of the Boston Regional Intelligence Center. Murphy worked closely with the private sector in Boston to strengthen relationships between local businesses and the Boston Police department, building critical private/public partnerships within the framework of community policing. She has worked with local police and federal partners conducting sensitive investigations.
Murphy has had “surveillance detection” training and has trained with the U.S. Secret Service, U.S. State Department, and New York Police Department. She has worked assisting these agencies, as well as, the U.S. Capital Police, in providing high level/ high threat dignitary protection to include U.S. Presidents, U.S. Vice Presidents, first ladies, politicians, foreign Presidents, foreign heads of state, consular generals and other dignitaries. Murphy has worked during numerous high threat, large scale events to include the 2004 Democratic National Convention, Boston Marathon, Biotech events, Boston sporting celebrations, “Occupy Boston”, and local parades and festivals. Murphy was assigned to the Joint Terrorism Task Force during the Boston Marathon bombing investigation and was assigned to the juror protection detail during the Tsarnaev trial. She has received awards from the private sector, the Mayor’s Medal of Excellence (2004 DNC), U.S. Attorney awards and several Boston Police Commendations.
