Michael Magalski joined The Edward Davis Company team in January of 2014 as a Security Consultant. In this role, Mike provides expertise services in physical site assessments and review of safety policies and procedures for major companies and corporations. Magalski brings extensive law enforcement and security experience to EDC. Magalski retired from the United States Secret Service after 30 years of service, to include his last 18 years as the Agent in Charge of their Portland, Maine Office. He managed, supervised, and coordinated the work of all law enforcement, technical, and administrative support personnel in carrying out all protective, investigative, and intelligence gathering functions under the jurisdiction of the United States Secret Service in the State of Maine and portions of Canada. This included the implementation of all security arrangements for the Bush residence in Kennebunkport, along with the numerous presidential visits, foreign heads of state, and other high ranking government officials that routinely visited the state. As a member of the U.S. delegation, Magalski assisted in the planning and supervised all security arrangements for the Presidential Summit in Kennebunkport between President George W. Bush and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Magalski attended the Harvard School of Public Health’s leadership for national, state, and local preparedness for law enforcement executives, along with other specialized training in the following areas: Explosives recognition and effectiveness, underwater terrorism preparedness, counter surveillance, cyber counter terrorism and active shooter preparedness and response. Magalski is a certified firearms instructor, scuba instructor, rescue swimmer and high performance boat operator. He is also a past president of the Southern Maine Federal Executive Association and a lifetime member of the Maine Chiefs of Police Association. Magalski graduated from Cleveland State University with honors and a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting.
